For boats equipped with inboard hydraulic steering, Hydraflex has developed a series of
2-line compact systems for boats up to around 20 m ( 65-66 ft ), for single or multiple
steering stations. All the systems are easy to install, easy to fill and purge, designed
to provide a smooth and easy steering systems for many years.
For smaller inboard boats, up to 8,5-9 m ( 25-30 ft ) length, we recommend the HYSY 30
kit. All you need for a hydraulic steering system is neatly packaged in a single carton,
easy to be stored and ready for sale.
For boats in the 9-14 m ( 30-46 ft ) length range, we recommend the use of a system with
LD serie helm(s) pump(s) ( LD25-LD35-LD42 ), and inboard cylinder(s) type I-B116, I-B173
or I-B222. These systems are very compact and easy to install, in the helm pump is
included the relief and lock valve, and there are just two hydraulic lines, nylon or
copper type, connecting the helms to the cylinders.
For larger inboard boats, or heavy displacement boats, a system with HD63 helm pump and a
cylinder type I-B293, I-B378 or I-B648 should be considered, we highly recommend the use
of copper hosing for the hydraulic lines of these systems.
Please consider these application guide as a general reference only, as the application
depends upon many factors, including rudder size and angle, boat speed, boat use and type.
When in doubt, use the largest recommended system.
